At least one person is feared dead after being shot at today by a stray bullet during a fracas between the security forces and the opposition in North Western town of Arua triggered by the blockage of President Yoweri Museveni's motorcade, the Police have confirmed.

“One of his lead cars was attacked and smashed by hooligans that were donning colors of one of the contestants, Kassiano Wadri,” said Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima.

“Unfortunately in the scuffle one person was fatally injured in car number UAT 416K Tundra,” added the Police.

“Police has shot my driver dead thinking they've shot at me. My hotel is now cordoned off by police and SFC,” said Uganda’s singer-turned politician, Bobi Wine aka Ghetto President through twitter.

Dozens of people who the police said are hooligans have been arrested.
