President Paul Kagame has called on participants in the Giants of Africa Camp that opened today in the capital Kigali to invest energy, time, thinking and passion into basketball, adding that becoming a giant does not come one’s way by chance.
The President noted that it was pretty good for Rwanda to be part of the group.
“You don't become giants anyhow. Invest your energy, time, thinking and passion into it, you may end up being giants,” said President Kagame.
“I am grateful that Rwanda is part of the group that is benefiting from this project. I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to do your best and become your best selves,” he added.
Kagame also observed that the project helped to identify and develop young Rwandan talents henceforth thanking the Commissioner and President of National Basketball Association (NBA) Adam Silver and Masai Ujiri respectively for their efforts in this direction.
“We are grateful that you have identified and spotted our country's young talents and you are doing this work to develop them,” said Kagame, “It's a great pleasure to have you here in our country to be here for our young people and for basketball. Thank you for being here”.
