Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has today landed at Kigali International Airport for a three-day state visit as a follow up meant to bolster bilateral cooperation between Mozambique and Rwanda.
President Nyusi has been treated to warm welcome by his counterpart President Paul Kagame with Mozambique national flag flying all the way along the streets right from the Airport to Kigali Convention Centre.
During his stay President Nyusi will visit the Special Economic zone before proceeding to the Kigali Genocide Memorial among other places.
Official sources have also revealed that the visiting President will on Friday head to Rwanda’s border city of Rubavu to visit the one stop border post.
President Paul Kagame visited Mozambique in 2016 during which the two leaders agreed on various areas of cooperation along their journey to economic transformation.
Last year the Mozambican and Rwandan governments signed a number of MoUs to bolster cooperation.
