Rwanda’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Louise Mushikiwabo has today reiterated the importance of solidarity and unity of African countries, particularly at the next summit of in the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
Mushikiwabo who is currently canvassing support in mainly Francophone countries this week officially submitted her candidature for the position of Secretary General of OIF to the Madagascan President Harley Rajaonarimampianina who is the current chairperson of the organization.
She echoed her message on unity and solidarity of African nation during a meeting with President Idriss Deby Itno of the Republic of Tchad today.
Rwanda subscribes to OIF, a body that brings together French-speaking countries worldwide.
President Emmanuel Macron is one of the high profile leaders in the Francophone world who endorsed her candidature.
