Kagame meets Donald Tusk

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has today met with high profile leaders Donald Tusk, President of European Council, ahead of the 12th edition of the European Development Days (EDD) which will run from June5-6, 2018 in the Belgian capital, Brussels, official sources have said.
“President Kagame is now meeting with Donald Tusk, President of European Council, ahead of the 12th edition of the European Development Days,” President Kagame official source said.
This year’s EDD will be hold under the theme: Women and Girls at the Forefront of Sustainable Development: protect, empower, and invest. Development partners use the occasion to brainstorm various ideas and share experiences in their relentless quest for solutions to world problems.
The role of women and girls in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is high on the agenda this year.
The meetings present an opportunity for Rwanda to exchange on bilateral matters, regional and global issues, the sources added.
Besides meeting other leaders Neven Mimica, EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development; Antonio and Antonio Tajani, Speaker of the European Parliament, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/VP of the European Commission and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the EU Commission President Kagame is expected to speak during the opening ceremony.
