Mahatma Gandhi University in Rwanda (MGUR) on Wednesday launched a scholarship program dubbed “Educational for All” a free education designed to help students from poor families who passed well in senior six national examinations to further pursue their studies at university.

The first batch of 200 students received the scholarship during the launch and will right away enroll in bachelor degree program through online distance learning at MGUR.

According to Dr. Rajan Chopra, the university chancellor and founder, “Education for All” Scholarship program is designed to provide access to higher education with 100% tuition-free admission to students of poor and marginalized families.

Dr. Chopra says the primary focus of his university is to provide education to the underprivileged sections of the society. The program targets students deprived of education, as well as the young people who have the will to study and aspire.

Beneficiary students of the scholarships will benefit a full free education at MGUR to study Bachelors of Business Administration and Bachelors of Science in Information Technology. Students will also be able to access free online and distance learning lessons and all required learning materials.

Mahatma Gandhi University Rwanda is also hosting series of free seminars, workshops, and training programs.
